Who’s In The Kitchen
Hi! My name is MacKenzie, and I’m a huge foodie. I’ve had a passion for food for as long as I can remember, and my enthusiasm for trying new cuisines only evolved as I grew older. I grew up in the cultural melting pot of Seattle. After graduating high school I attend 2 years of culinary school at The Culinary Institute of America. This program allowed me to study 9 months in upstate New York, take a 6 month internship in Maui Hawaii, then finish out my culinary program in the beautiful Napa Valley. After finishing culinary school I moved back to Seattle to work with a concept brand aiding in the development of their food and beverage program. About a year later I decided it was time to combine my love of both food and hospitality. I studied 2 years of hospitality management at Florida International University after graduating I landed a restaurant manager role at a major global hotel chain. I spend sometime there honing my skills before moving to a smaller new hotel opening to follow my passion in developing concepts from the ground up. I thought I was done moving around for a bit until I was introduce to a hospitality technology consulting company. They made me an offer I couldn’t resist.. getting paid to travel, all while working in hospitality. Some of my favorite things!
As a consultant, I travel weekly. And although I never know where my projects will take me, what I do know is that I’ll be on the hunt to discover foods I have never tried before. There’s a ton of culture and beauty to appreciate around the world, and I believe one of the most authentic ways experience the culture and discover the beauty is through food!
